Amaris – Stunning Wharf Condo

Updated: Sep 13, 2023

The Wharf’s Phase 2 of Southwest Waterfront development began early in 2020. By constructing a 12-story, high-end condo, Wharf developer Hoffman-Madison Waterfront is adding an incredibly unique building to D.C.’s skyline

This condominium development, named Amaris, “you are loved” in Latin, was designed by architect Rafael Viñoly. Viñoly, an Uruguayan, NYC-based architect, has numerous accomplishments. Recent projects include 432 Park Avenue in Manhattan, which is currently the world’s tallest all-residential building, and the Walkie Talkie building in London.

Amaris will be built next to The Green, the planned 1.5-acre waterfront park. Expected to be completed in the first quarter of 2023. The overall look will compliment the style of the Watergate on the North West DC Potomac waterfront very nicely.

The goals for Amaris have been set quite high. Here are your important specs announced so far:

  2. One bedroom – ranging from 700 square feet

  3. Four bedrooms – as large as 6,000 square feet!

Monty Hoffman, founder and chairman of Hoffman & Associates notes, “Since our initial designs with lead architect Rafael Viñoly, our goal has been to create an iconic and inspiring addition to the neighbourhood that will become a statement in Washington’s waterfront skyline, while raising the bar for residential living,”1

“From its striking all-glass facade to its ideal location on the water’s edge that allows each residence private outdoor space, Amaris exemplifies the ultimate in luxury waterfront living for the region that can only be found at The Wharf.”

The highly successful Phase 1 of The Wharf, included over 2 million square feet of development and opened in 2017. With Phase 2, another 1 million square feet will be added.
