Planned to open in 2022, Phase 2 will add an additional 1.15 million SF of mixed-use spaces. Phase 1 was just shy of 2 million square feet spanning a mile-long area. Phase 2 will add a new marina, office, residential, retail, and parks and public spaces to DC’s Southwest Waterfront.

Washington DC based Perkins Eastman DC, the planner and architect of The Wharf Phase 1, continues to head the design for Phase 2. In this way the hope is to ensure through a cohesive vision that The Wharf project continues to be a beloved neighborhood at the waterfront for generations to come. Architects and designers make up a very impressive lineup, to include Rafael Vinoly, SHoP Architects, WDG, Morris Adjmi Architects, ODA, Hollwich Kushner, Michael Van Valkenburgh Associates, S9 Architects, and Wolf Josey.
